Iron Pyrite Raw

Iron pyrite, also known as “Fool’s Gold,” is a metallic mineral with a striking, brassy-yellow hue that closely resembles gold. It typically forms in cubic or octahedral crystals, though it can also appear in nodular or massive forms. Its metallic luster gives it a bright, reflective sheen, while its surface often displays striations or fine lines. Pyrite is hard and brittle, with a texture that can range from smooth to rough. Though its resemblance to gold fooled many early prospectors, it is distinct due to its hardness, sulfuric odor when struck, and lower density.
